Who is it for?

This course is a requirement of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 for any person who may come into contact with asbestos. It will be of particular interest to those within any industry sector, such as: general maintenance staff; gas fitters; plasterers; roofers; fire & burglar alarm installers; shop fitters; electricians; painters and decorators; demolition workers; heating and ventilation engineers; computer installers; plumbers; joiners; construction workers; telecoms engineers and building surveyors.

Aims

To raise the awareness of individuals who may come in contact with asbestos as part of their daily work activity. 

Course Duration: ½ day

Number of Delegates: Maximum of 15

Course Content

Approved by UKATA (United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association), this half-day course uses a series of written and oral presentations, individual exercises and case studies to provide relevant knowledge, skills and understanding about asbestos.

  • Module 1: What is Asbestos?
  • Module 2: Asbestos in Buildings
  • Module 3: Health Effects of Asbestos
  • Module 4: Legislation, including the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
  • Course Evaluation Test
