Skanska is a world leading expert construction group. They carry out every aspect of construction, development and infrastructure process-from design right through to facilities management. They have specialist skills ranging from piling and foundations, through mechanical and electrical engineering and steel decking, to civil engineering and utilities work. They work in both the private and public sector.
The Challenge
Skanska required Life Environmental to remove all waste streams from RAF Wyton demolition site in the most environmentally friendly way. Waste streams varied from special waste to green waste.
All waste removed needed to be documented, and managed appropriately to the Environmental Legislation it fell under.
The Solution
Our experienced consultants began by site visits to assess the amount of waste to be removed.
We arranged for the removal of all waste through specialist services, all non hazardous waste was recycled and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Hazardous Waste went to Landfill.
The Result
- A Site Waste Management Plan was compiled on a weekly basis to show accrued waste removal, actual waste removal and destination of waste i.e. Landfill, Recycled
- Experienced consultants offering help and assistance to Site and Customers.
- Specialist knowledge to assist Skanska in it Environmental and legal commitments.
- An achievement of 88% of the material segregated and removed from site was recycled.
